Fuzzy was rescued from a Pennsylvania "kill pen" by Standardbred Retirement Foundation (SRF) in February 2022. Not much is known about his history prior to his rescue. We do know that when he was young he did some harness racing. He must not have shown much promise as a race horse because at some point he was bought by the Amish and used as a buggy horse. Unfortunatly, like many unwanted horses he was sold at auction where he would have been shipped to Mexico or Canada for slaughter. Luckily Fuzzy was rescued along with a group of other Standardbreds by SRF in February 2022. We adopted Fuzzy from SRF in April 2022 after finishing his quarentine. Fuzzy now enjoys his time rolling in the grass, getting groomed, and hanging out with the horse next door. Fuzzy brings us much joy and will be heading out on the trails in the spring.
